According to Liu, the issue is fixed by clearing Google Maps. He’s worked at Google for over 14 years and he gave me an aerial view (pun intended) of how satellite imagery works. Today, 7 June, Tony Liu from Google’s automotive maps team posted on the Android Auto help forum, saying a fix is being rolled out. Tried to see if it had to do with the Audi connect subscription, but the Audi connect website is not working (wont recognize my VIN) so cant know for sure. Scroll down and enable the toggle next to 'Start Maps in Satellite View. You are right in that this cant be done with the new Google Maps APIs. Please see man chromium-browser for more information on flags and environment variables. To start Google Maps in satellite view on Android, open Google Maps, tap your profile icon, and open Settings. However, either your system is not supported or there was a problem launching your system configuration.But you can still configure via the command line. When running Chromium under a supported desktop environment, the system proxy settings will be used. ![]() A link at the bottom of the screen takes you to a website which states that the Firefox / Linux environment is no longer supported! It does work on Chromium - but I don't trust Chromium and if I try to use a proxy with it - I get the following message: Google have introduced new maps on which the 3D feature no longer works on Firefox.
